Sacred Heart Faith Formation
In honor of The Blessed Mother, during the month May, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church invites all parishioners as well as Faith Formation and Academy families to a mini Concert and Rosary to be held in the Church on Thursday, May 2nd at 7:30 pm.
Wednesday, May 1st at 7 pm: Grade/Level 2 – First Eucharist Parent Zoom meeting at 7 pm. Call details have been released to all families.
Tuesday, May 7th – Grade/Level 2 – First Eucharist practice in CHURCH as follows:
6:30 pm – families scheduled for May 11th First Eucharist Mass
7:30 pm – families scheduled for May 18th First Eucharist Mass
Thursday, May 9th – ASCENSION – we celebrate Jesus’ ascension into Heaven. This is a Holy Day of Obligation! Masses will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8th at 7 pm and Thursday, May 9th at 8:30 am.
Saturday, May 11th at 11 am – Sacrament of First Eucharist (Sacred Heart Catholic Academy)
Saturday, May 18th at 11 am & 2 pm – Sacrament of First Eucharist (Faith Formation)
Sunday, May 19th at 11:30 am – PENTECOST – Sacrament of Confirmation – OCIA
Wednesday, May 22nd at 7 pm – May Crowning for Faith Formation families.
Upcoming Faith Formation Events…
We invite everyone to join us as Sacred Heart of Jesus Church celebrates the Feast of Corpus Christi on June 2nd at 11:30 am. Following the 11:30 am Mass join the parish for a procession of the Holy Eucharist around the property of our Church, Convent, and Academy grounds as we ask for our Lord’s blessing on the four corners of our Parish. The procession will conclude in the Sacred Heart Garden with Benediction. We extend a special invitation to the children who received their First Holy Communion this year. They are welcome to wear their First Communion clothes and walk together directly behind the Blessed Sacrament!
Reminders…
Grade/Level 7 – to receive a Confirmation interview, students must have submitted their Saint Report, Letter to the Pastor and complete their MCFD coursework which should now be submitted and/or completed. Service journals may be brought to the confirmation interview if they have not already been submitted to the Faith Formation Office. All students must be registered into the Year 2 sacrament preparation class by June 30th in order to continue their journey towards the Sacrament of Confirmation during the 2024-25 school year. Please contact the Faith Formation office if you have any questions.
Please remember to practice the daily prayers each and every day (and night)! By joining us in praying the Rosary on May 2nd at 7:30 pm, it will help strengthen knowledge of these prayers!
Faith Formation coursework…
Grade/Level 2 students must complete all their MCFD coursework by May 1st in order to participate in the sacrament of First Eucharist. Students in Grades 1-7 should complete their coursework by May 15th.
Parents and students, please remember to check your Dashboard for any notifications and class threads! All MCFD coursework should be completed by May for Grade/Level 2 and no later than May 15th for all other grades/levels.
Note: A 65% or better is required on Post-Assessment and Unit Tests in My Catholic Faith Delivered (MCFD) to get credit for the year’s work. You may find more information on MCFD on our homepage under the MCFD dropdown.
