“Let the children come to me”
Welcome to our program of Roman Catholic Faith Formation. Our mission is to spread the Good News of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and to educate people of all ages in their Catholic Faith. FOR CHILDREN: We have programs that will educate your children in the Catholic Faith, teach them about God and the life of Jesus, our Savior, introduce them to the Church, Catholic Morality, Catholic Tradition, the Bible and along the way, prepare them for the Sacraments.- 1 through 8: Each year teaches your child a different part of our faith, and children are EXPECTED to complete years 1 through 8 in a certified religious education program in order to receive all their sacraments.
- Teens coming late to religious education or who are seeking to become Catholic have a separate Teen program.
- Special Needs Children: We take each child’s special needs into consideration to develop a plan for their religious education and reception of sacraments.
- Ask your children about their classwork and their assignments. Do the homework with them and discuss it with them.
- Make sure they complete their lessons on My Catholic Faith Delivered (MCFD). MCFD is a full curriculum for each grade which the family completes at home with the children on a weekly basis September-May. Discussion groups and progress tracking of each class and individual student will be ongoing. Students are expected to have 50% of all lessons completed by January. The score per lesson should be no lower than 65% to pass.
- Absence Policy – all MCFD lessons must be completed on a weekly basis with a 65% or better. For the sacrament years, attendance at all proximate preparation events and retreats is required in addition to the completion of any project work. Only one absence is allowed.
