Mission Statement
"Let the children come to me"
Welcome to our program of Religious Education for years K through 7. Our program will educate
your children in the Catholic Faith, teach them about God and the life of Jesus, our Savior,
introduce them to the Bible, and prepare them for the Sacraments. Each year teaches your child
a different part of our faith, and children are EXPECTED to complete year 1 through 7 in a
certified religious education program in order to receive all their sacraments. We cannot do this
alone. We need YOU, the family to support our efforts on behalf of your child. This support can
be given in many ways:
The most basic way to support your child is for you and your child to attend Mass together each
week.
- Ask your children about their class work and their assignments. Do the homework with them and
discuss it with them.
- Make sure they bring the proper books and material each week. This reinforces the efforts of
our Catechists.
- We need Parent Volunteers to monitor the hallways and answer the door during class,
and to help us in various other tasks. If you have the time and can help us, this is an
excellent example for the children.
- Absence Policy - We see your child for about 25 class hours a YEAR. This adds up to only ONE DAY, so only 5 unexcused
absences are allowed. Absences can only be excused with a doctor's note, or documentation of some
serious event. Six or more unexcused absences will require your child to repeat their grade.
We expect your child to behave in an age appropriate manner in accordance with the teachings of
Jesus and the Catholic Church. We also expect your child to attend Mass every week. Remember, you
are your child's primary teacher. Use this program to share your own Faith with your children.
Yours in Christ,
